Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Perform cable splicing, termination, and testing for both fiber optic and copper networks.
Conduct OTDR, power meter, light source, and other industry-standard tests to ensure cable integrity and quality.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair cable issues in both aerial and underground environments.
Read and interpret splicing diagrams, schematics, and work orders.
Maintain accurate documentation of splicing records, test results, and project deliverables.
Follow safety standards and industry best practices while working in the field.
Interface with project managers and team leads to provide status updates and ensure customer deliverables are met.
Support multiple markets as needed with up to 75% travel.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Cable Splicer & Tester in the telecom wireline industry.
Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic and copper splicing techniques, testing equipment, and documentation standards.
Ability to work independently and with teams in both aerial and underground construction environments.
Familiarity with industry safety regulations and procedures.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license (company truck provided as needed).
Willingness to travel between multiple markets.
Bucket truck operation experience and CDL license preferred.
