Qualifications
At least 10 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and a holistic understanding of underground construction related to telecommunications wire installation.
Other Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license. Ideally, should have key relationships with decision makers of carriers who provide phone, TV, and internet service.
Job Description
Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
? Business Development & Client Growth
• Support expansion of the client base through technical credibility, relationship building, and field leadership.
• Participate in pre-sales activities including scope review, constructability input, and technical support for bids and proposals.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource for clients during planning, execution, and closeout phases.
• Identify opportunities to expand services, crews, or project scope within existing client programs.
? Project & Operations Leadership
• Lead OSP construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, and production targets are met.
• Develop and manage production forecasts and long-term project schedules.
• Recruit, onboard, and manage construction crews and subcontractors as projects scale.
• Oversee day-to-day field operations while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
• Ensure adherence to documentation requirements, including reporting, as-builts, and project closeout materials.
? Technical & Estimating Expertise
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of OSP infrastructure, including print reading and plan interpretation.
• Support bid development, proposals, estimating, and creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Provide constructability reviews and cost-driven recommendations to support competitive and profitable bids.
? Communication & Documentation
• Maintain clear, professional written and verbal communication with customers, internal teams, and field crews.
• Ensure timely reporting, documentation accuracy, and alignment with client and company expectations.
Qualifications:
• Extensive hands-on experience in Outside Plant (OSP) construction.
• Proven ability to manage complex, long-term OSP projects and production schedules.
• Strong background in bids, proposals, estimating, and BOM development.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing crews and subcontractors.
• Client-facing experience with the ability to support business growth initiatives.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with fiber, copper, and/or hybrid OSP networks.
• Familiarity with North Texas / DFW municipalities, permitting, and utility coordination.
• Established relationships with local crews, subcontractors, or clients.
• Safety certifications (OSHA or equivalent).
Work Environment:
• Field-based role with daily outdoor work.
• May require evening or weekend hours depending on workload.
• Travel to multiple work sites within service territory.
