Experience in underground construction, including directional boring, drilling, and utility locating. Skilled in conduit placement and fiber-optic cable installation. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans. Consistently adheres to safety protocols, industry standards, and state regulations.

Job Description
We are needing 4-5 drill crews in Michigan. Seeking skilled contractors with underground construction expertise
Equipment Preferred:
Drill, Vac, Core Drill, Reel Trailer
Complete drill crews
Key Responsibilities
>Operate directional drill rigs for underground utility installation
>Follow bore plans, profiles, and depth requirements
>Maintain proper bore path, depth, and alignment using locator guidance
>Communicate continuously with the locator during all drilling operations
>Identify and respond to changing ground conditions (rock, sand, utilities, etc.)
>Ensure safe entry and exit pits are set up properly
>Monitor drilling fluid (mud) usage and returns
>Avoid existing utilities and follow all 811 locate requirements
>Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
>Track bore footage, rod count, and production data
>Lead safe work practices during drilling operations
Required Skills & Experience
>Experience operating HDD drill rigs (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, etc.)
>Strong understanding of underground utility installation
>Ability to read bore plans and follow utility alignments
>Knowledge of soil conditions and drilling techniques
>Ability to work in tight spaces, trenches, and active job sites
>Strong communication with locator and crew
>Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot equipment
