Job Description

Independent Contractor Opportunity – Fire Protection Technician (1099)
An Excellent Transition for Satellite, Fiber, and Low-Voltage Techs

Phoenix Fire Systems, Inc. is expanding across Georgia and seeking independent contractors interested in transitioning from satellite, fiber, or low-voltage work into the fire protection and life-safety industry.

This is a regulated, mandatory service industry. Commercial businesses in Georgia are legally required to remain compliant, making this work stable, recession-resistant, and consistently in demand.

Why This Makes Sense for Cable, Fiber & Satellite Techs

Many of the same fundamentals apply:
• Route-based service work
• Commercial customers
• On-site inspections and installs
• Documentation and compliance
• Independent contractor mindset

The key difference is long-term stability. Satellite work is shrinking, fiber can be repetitive and price-compressed, but fire protection services are required by law and performed on recurring schedules.

The Opportunity
• 1099 Independent Contractor role
• Set your own hours and availability
• Build your own route over time
• Income scales with effort and consistency
• Long-term upside for motivated operators

As you gain certification and experience, opportunities may include:
• Purchasing or operating an established service route
• Building your own customer base
• Operating as a sole proprietor
• Running your own crew

Work Performed
• Commercial fire extinguisher inspection and servicing
• Compliance tagging and documentation
• Working with existing commercial clients
• Following state and local fire regulations

This is hands-on field work, not sales-only and not desk work.

Training & Certification

No prior fire protection experience is required. Phoenix Fire Systems provides:
• Structured onboarding
• Certification guidance and study resources
• Support through licensing and compliance steps

Contractors must be willing to complete certification and treat this as a professional trade.

Who This Is Ideal For
• Former or current satellite installers
• Fiber or low-voltage techs seeking stability
• Independent contractors tired of shrinking margins
• Self-starters who want control of schedule and income
• Technicians interested in long-term growth

Who This Is Not For
• Those seeking W-2 hourly employment
• Anyone unwilling to get certified
• Anyone not comfortable working independently

If you are coming from satellite or fiber and asking “what’s next?”, this is a strong long-term path.
