Job Description
Role Summary: Your Impact
In the role of OSP Construction Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate field construction activities, making sure all projects are delivered in line with high expectations for safety, quality, and productivity. You will act as the key point of contact between field teams, subcontractors, local authorities, and internal departments.
Core Duties
-Oversee day-to-day OSP construction operations across several concurrent job sites, including trenching, boring, aerial, and underground work.
-Guide, train, and manage construction crews and subcontractors to ensure compliance with timelines, cost controls, and safety standards.
-Track project advancement and submit regular daily and weekly status updates to project management and leadership teams.
-Work closely with permitting offices, municipalities, utility companies, and community stakeholders to keep projects moving efficiently.
-Perform field audits and inspections to confirm safety practices and workmanship meet NESC, OSHA, and company standards.
-Anticipate labor and material requirements and coordinate scheduling and logistics with internal project staff.
-Address and resolve field challenges, delays, or safety concerns promptly to reduce interruptions and maintain progress.
-Promote and enforce safety.
Qualifications & Competencies
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in OSP construction, operations, or engineering environments.
-At least 2 years of hands-on leadership experience supervising crews, preferably within telecom or utility construction.
-Strong knowledge of aerial and underground fiber installation techniques.
-Thorough familiarity with NESC, OSHA, and applicable local construction codes.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, public agencies, and internal teams.
-Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and construction or project management software.
-Highly motivated, organized, and capable of solving problems independently.
Additional Criteria
-High school diploma or GED required; college degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) is a plus.
-Current, valid Driver’s License without restrictions.
-Residence within the assigned market or willingness to relocate as needed.
-Ability to travel daily to multiple job sites; approved travel expenses will be reimbursed.
