Role Summary:
We are seeking experienced Network Technicians to support the maintenance, installation, testing, and repair of Central Office (CO) and Network infrastructure equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with telecom network environments, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in mission-critical facilities.
This role is essential to ensuring network reliability, uptime, and service quality for carrier-grade telecommunications systems.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair Central Office network equipment, including:
Switches, routers, multiplexers, DWDM systems, and transport equipment
Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on network hardware
Troubleshoot network alarms, outages, and performance issues
Execute equipment turn-ups, augments, upgrades, and decommissions
Perform fiber and copper testing, including power levels and continuity
Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and MOPs
Ensure compliance with carrier standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures
Document work performed, test results, and close-out reports accurately
Coordinate with NOCs, engineers, and field teams during maintenance windows
Support emergency and after-hours maintenance as required
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Network Technician / CO Technician / Telecom Technician
Strong knowledge of Central Office environments and carrier-grade equipment
Experience with:
Transport networks (SONET/SDH, Ethernet, DWDM)
Fiber optic and copper-based systems
Ability to troubleshoot network issues using test equipment (OTDR, power meters, TDR, etc.)
Familiarity with telecom safety standards and CO access procedures
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or secured environments
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in ILEC, CLEC, or MSO environments
Knowledge of major OEM platforms (e.g., Nokia, Ciena, Cisco, Adtran, Fujitsu, Ericsson)
Understanding of network documentation systems and ticketing tools
OSHA or other safety certifications
