Job Description
Job Summary:
We are building a bench of experienced Fiber I&R Technicians to support upcoming fiber installation and repair projects across multiple U.S. locations. This role involves customer-facing fiber installation, troubleshooting, and service restoration for residential and commercial networks. Technicians should be comfortable working independently in the field and meeting service-level expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform fiber installation, activation, and repair at customer premises
-Troubleshoot fiber connectivity issues including loss of signal, high attenuation, and outages
-Install and terminate fiber using SC, LC connectors
-Test fiber using power meters, light sources, and VFL
-Perform basic fiber splicing (as required for repairs)
-Install and troubleshoot ONTs, modems, routers, and Wi-Fi equipment
-Conduct inside wiring and premise cabling
-Educate customers on equipment use and service setup
-Follow safety procedures and quality standards
-Accurately document work orders, test results, and service reports
-Coordinate with dispatch, NOC, and field supervisors
Required Skills & Qualifications:
-Experience as a Fiber I&R Technician, FTTH Technician, or Broadband Technician
-Strong knowledge of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations
-Familiarity with customer premise equipment (CPE)
-Ability to read basic network and service diagrams
-Customer-facing communication skills
-Ability to work independently and manage daily routes
-Comfortable working outdoors, in attics, crawlspaces, and on ladders
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with major telecom providers (AT&T, Verizon, Lumen, Frontier, Spectrum, etc.)
-Light fiber splicing experience
-Experience with trouble tickets and SLA-based repairs
-OSHA or safety certifications
-Own tools and vehicle (for contractor roles)
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
-Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
-Willingness to travel or relocate for projects
