Job Description
CAT5 Construction Services LLC., an industry leader in creating infrastructure for telecommunications, is currently seeking a Fleet Manager covering all market areas. As Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for providing oversight of maintenance, reliability, and utilization of our fleet and equipment across multiple regions and all aspects. This includes acquisition, sales, maintenance, and DOT compliance. The Fleet Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting field operations. Your management must include collaboration and accountability for all involved. Quality assurance and safety are overriding goals, along with the imperative demand to satisfy customer needs.
You will serve as the main point of contact for all stakeholders and provide regular updates to senior management. There will be 50% travel associated with this position.
Here’s a highlight of what you will do:
• You will track and manage equipment condition, location, hours, and service history through company systems.
• You will develop maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs, and negotiate with vendors for repair, parts, etc.
• You will be responsible for all fleet acquisitions and sales.
• You will be responsible for DOT requirements and administrative tasks to ensure fleet & safety compliance and efficiency.
• You will provide regular reporting to senior management.
• You will be the subject matter expert on all aspects of Fleet management and will identify and solve any problems or issues that occur.
This is some of what is required.
• You will need to have earned a post-secondary degree in a related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Prior experience as a Fleet Manager or similar role. Preferably 2-5 years.
• You will have a deep understanding of heavy trucks, trailers, and underground construction equipment.
• You will need to have the ability to analyze and interpret data.
• You will need to be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the company and with stakeholders.
• Prior experience managing/leading employees.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
