Position: Fiber Installation Technician (Mechanical Splicing)
Location: Jasper, TX
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Work Schedule: Full-time availability, 5 days per week
Payment Terms: Net 21
Screening Requirement: Crimshield background check completed within the past 24 months
Overview
We are seeking reliable and motivated Fiber Installation Technicians with an emphasis on mechanical splicing to support residential and commercial projects. This is a 1099 contractor opportunity offering steady assignments and weekly compensation. Prior fiber experience is preferred, but individuals with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn are welcome.
Key Duties
Install, service, and troubleshoot fiber optic systems in residential and commercial environments
Perform mechanical fiber splicing and terminations to meet quality standards
Safely work at heights using ladders up to 28 feet
Deliver professional, customer-focused service at every job site
Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment
Maintain clear communication with dispatch and management teams
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license and dependable work van or minivan (vehicle rentals available)
Ability to pass required background and drug screenings
Must supply personal tools, including but not limited to:
Fiber termination and mechanical splicing tools, fiber cleaver, compression tools, telephone crimper and toner (if applicable), torque wrench, drill, hammer, assorted screwdrivers, flashlight, safety harness, hard hat, safety cones, and ladders (28’, 16’, and 6’)
Strong customer service, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Availability to work a minimum of 5 days per week
