Job Description
We are seeking experienced Underground Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Drop Installation Contractors to support ongoing and upcoming broadband deployment projects. This role focuses exclusively on the underground portion of residential service drop installation. Contractors must be reliable, professional, and capable of delivering high-quality work that meets industry and client standards.
Underground Drop Installation
• Install microduct or direct-buried flat drop fiber per project design requirements.
• Maintain standard burial depths:
• 18–24 inches in soft soil.
• 18–24 inches under sidewalks or driveways (including conduit/sleeve protection when required).
• Install tracer wire or use toneable drop cable as specified by the Owner.
• Provide proper slack loops (typically 5–10 feet) on both ends.
• Label all drop ends clearly per Owner standards.
• Backfill, tamp, seed, restore, and leave each property in equal or better condition than before work began.

Testing & Documentation
• Perform end-to-end optical loss testing (OTDR or light-source/power-meter) at nm wavelengths.
• Submit electronic test results including:
• Drop location
• Terminal ID
• Customer ID
• Measured loss values
• Provide complete as-built documentation, including:
• Route deviations (if applicable)
• Footage lengths
• Test data

Restoration & Cleanup
• Restore all disturbed surfaces — lawns, soil, concrete, or asphalt — to pre-construction condition or better.
• Remove debris, excess materials, and waste daily.
• Contractor is responsible for repairing any damage caused during installation activities.
