# **Job Description – 2,000 ft Bore Installation (with Possible 800 ft Extension)**
**Location:** Heflin, Alabama
**Terrain:** Wooded, limited access; multiple drill setups expected.

## **Project Overview**
This project involves completing a **horizontal directional bore (HDD)** of approximately **2,000 ft**, with the possibility of an **additional 800 ft** depending on field adjustments. Work includes vegetation clearing, conduit installation, fiber pulling, and handhole installation.
**Key Requirements:**
* **Multiple setups are acceptable** — does *not* need to be completed in one shot.
* **No brokers or third-party middlemen**.
* Contractor must **call in all Alabama 811 locates**.
## **Scope of Work**
### **1. Tree Trimming & Site Access**
* Clear and trim vegetation along the route to allow equipment access and setup pads.
* Remove and dispose of debris as required.
### **2. Horizontal Directional Boring**
* Perform HDD along the designated route using multiple drilling setups as needed.
* Maintain safe drilling operations and follow all required locate procedures.
### **3. Required Equipment Disclosure**
Contractor must list the **drill rig(s)** they will use, including:
* **Make & Model**
* **Pullback Rating**
* **Torque Output**
*Example:* Vermeer 24×40, Ditch Witch JT30, etc.
(No need for tracking system or mud system details.)
**No brokers allowed — contractor must self-perform.**
### **4. Locate Requirements**
* Contractor must call in **Alabama 811 locates** prior to beginning work.
* Must maintain documentation of locate tickets.
* Must daylight utilities as required.
### **5. Conduit Installation**
* Install **two (2) 1-1/4" HDPE conduits** along the full bore path.
* **Conduit may be coupled** — heat fusing is *not* required.
* Install tracer wire where needed.
### **6. Fiber Cable Pull**
* Pull **one (1) 12-count fiber optic cable** through the conduit.
* Follow proper tension and handling requirements.
* Provide appropriate slack at handholes.
### **7. Handhole Installation**
* Install **two (2)** handholes (24×36 or 30×48 standard).
* Set on gravel base with proper compaction and drainage.
* No as-built drawings required.
## **Contractor Requirements**
* Licensed and insured for HDD work in Alabama.
