Job Description

As an MDU Technician II (Site Lead), you will support the MDU Supervisor in a variety of responsibilities, including conducting site walks, assisting with training new hires, entering daily job orders, and overseeing the management of site tools and equipment. You will be expected to deliver high-quality service in both commercial and residential environments. This role involves creating pathways for plenum fiber drops, performing splicing when necessary.

Responsibilities:

Placing a path from a building terminal to the inside/outside of the customer’s living unit to facilitate a fiber drop placement.
Placing fiber cable from entrance point through innerduct, molding, up through various communication closets reaching upper floors, slack storage box, labeling, and strap support.
Place a ruggedized drop from the customer pickup point (PP) to the customer terminal point, and labeling each drop, in accordance with customer procedures & practices.
Engage in positive and effective interaction with internal and external customers.
Enter completed jobs into customer portal daily and submit documentation and photo evidence of job completion.
Complete MTU work orders as assigned
Splicing and assisting with new hire training as needed

Qualifications:

Minimum one year of experience in the satellite or cable industry.
Minimum one year experience with fiber installation and troubleshooting work.
Retro-fitting experience is highly preferred.
Knowledge of Residential, Commercial, L&I and MDU facilities.
Must possess a valid driver license with a clean driving history and valid auto insurance.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Must display the leadership qualities of professionalism, integrity, maturity, reliability with a “can-do attitude”.
Must be a team player who is coachable, a problem solver, and safety conscientious
Must have intermediate to advanced administrative and computer skills.
Must possess a business mindset and be able to resolve conflict.
Strong verbal and written skills, able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Strong time management skills and attention to detail (precision, accuracy, and quality).

Physical Requirements:

Carry and climbing ladders (up to 6 ft)
Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
Able to squat, kneel, and/or crawl through small spaces.
May experience drive times beyond a reasonable commute (not to excess 60 miles per day) to and from job location.
