Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. A fiber splicing certification is preferred but not required. OSHA 10/30 certification is also preferred. A clean driving/ DMV record is required.
Job Description
We’re hiring experienced Fiber Splicers for ongoing aerial and underground fiber projects in San Diego, CA.
Requirements:
1–2+ years fiber splicing experience (preferred)
Ability to splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables (single-mode & multi-mode)
Familiar with OTDR, power meter, light source, and fusion splicing equipment
Knowledge of fiber optic color codes and cable identification
Ability to read & understand fiber maps, schematics, and construction prints
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Basic understanding of construction safety and fiber installation standards
Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license
Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and climb ladders and operate bucket trucks
Option available to take work vehicle home
Ability to work night shifts when required
