Job Description

Job Title: 1099 Fiber, Copper & Combo I&R Technician - West Coast

Overview

Key responsibilities

Perform installation, repair, and maintenance on fiber, copper, and POTS/DSL telecommunication services.
Execute splicing, drop work, and general cable maintenance.
Troubleshoot and repair technical problems in the field.
Complete all work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to industry, customer, and company standards.
Maintain clear communication with customers and deliver exceptional service.
Use company systems for job assignments and documentation.
Work effectively as part of a team to achieve service restoration goals.
Required skills and qualifications

Experience: Proven experience as an Installation & Repair (I&R) technician, particularly with fiber, copper, or a combination of technologies. Experience in the cable, satellite, or alarm industry is also relevant.
Willingness to Travel: Must be available to travel anywhere needed, with mobilization and per diem often provided.
Flexibility: Must have the ability to work extended and flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, until restoration efforts are complete.
Equipment: Must own a personal truck, van, or SUV equipped with a ladder rack and a 28-foot ladder.
Tools: Must possess a standard set of telecom tools and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Physical: Must be physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including working at heights, in attics or crawl spaces, and in various weather conditions.
Technical: Basic understanding of electricity, electronics, and PC literacy for using job management software.
Administrative: Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance.
Contracting: Must operate as a 1099 independent contractor
