Job Description
Fiber Technician – Multiple MN Locations (Owatonna, Victoria, Northfield, Plymouth, Rochester, Austin)
We’re hiring Fiber Technicians for residential and commercial installations across Minnesota.
What you’ll do:
Perform fiber new installs (90%), with occasional trouble calls or upgrades (10%)
Handle fusion splicing, 2–4 jobs/day depending on experience and season
Educate customers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure clean, professional installations
Work independently and safely in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments
Schedule:
8 AM – 7 PM, 6 days/week (Sunday off)
1099 position | Weekly pay (after 2-week hold)
Pay:
Average $1900/week in MN (pay per job)
Splicer available for rent – $30/week
Onboarding process:
1. Contract signing
2. Drug test
3. Background check (3–5 days) – during this time you can start pre-training
4. Field training (˜2 weeks with a senior tech)
5. Final safety & practical exam
6. Independent field work begins immediately after
