As a Coax Splicer, you will develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and join us in expanding technology for a better community. As a Coax Splicer, you will be a part of a team of construction professionals who produce high-quality work while using specialized skills in splicing, activations, testing, troubleshooting, and more to make a difference. You will upgrade the existing plant, plant extensions, and new building construction. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.
In addition, you will:
• Safely operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment while complying with safety standards.
• Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot aerial and underground feeder and trunk coaxial cables.
• Install and splice passive/active CATV devices, pedestals, vaults, and splice cases.
• Optimize and splice nodes, including node splits, to improve capacity.
• Perform balancing, testing, and troubleshooting using RF meters.
• Read and interpret CATV design maps, blueprints, permits, and construction prints.
• Operate aerial lifts, ladders, hand tools, and related equipment.
• Maintain accurate project documentation (as-builts, reports, timesheets).
• Work in outdoor construction environments with a regular schedule, plus opportunities for overtime and rotating on-call.
About You:
• Safety-minded and team-oriented.
• 1–3 years’ coax splicing and sweeping experience.
• Fiber splicing knowledge preferred.
• Aerial construction (pre-install) experience in telecom.
• Ability to splice all types of Coax (500 to 875 cable, including building taps, amps, etc.)
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, permits, and construction prints.
• Familiar with Spectrum plant (preferred).
• Comfortable working outdoor, on ladders, and in bucket trucks.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach and focus on quality.
• Flexible for varied shifts, overtime, and on-call work.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL and current DOT Med Card preferred).
• MOS Codes B05A, 3D157, 6423, B05A, 5699 relate well to this position.
