QP Project Manager (Fiber Splicing) — Albuquerque, NM & Surrounding Areas
Reports To: Director of Operations
About the Role
You’ll lead fiber-optic splicing projects end-to-end and serve as the Qualifying Party (QP) for NM low-voltage/telecom scope (e.g., ES-7 Telephone Communication Systems). You’ll own schedule, budget, quality, safety, and compliance while guiding in-house and subcontract crews.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the company’s Qualifying Party attached to the NM contractor license; ensure compliance with CID rules.
Plan and oversee day-to-day splicing operations (aerial/underground).
Manage schedules, production, and budgets; deliver weekly reports and KPIs.
Coordinate permits, traffic control, locates, and ROW requirements.
Drive QA/QC, including test review and close-out packages.
Enforce safety practices (OSHA/NESC compliance, tailboards, incident management).
Oversee subcontractors/vendors (SOWs, invoicing, insurance).
Use project tools (Fulcrum, Google Workspace) for documentation and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years in fiber construction/splicing, 2+ years managing projects.
Active NM QP eligibility/credential (ES-7 or related LV/telecom).
Ability to read/interpret fiber plans and splicing schematics.
Valid US driver’s license; willingness to travel regionally.
Preferred
OSHA-30; First Aid/CPR.
Familiarity with NESC/NEC and make-ready coordination.
Experience in contracts, MSAs, and change management.
Compensation & Benefits
Base range: $88,000 – $110,000 DOE
