Job Description
Hiring 2 Positions | Underground Utility Contractor
About the Role
We’re looking for team-first Class A CDL Drivers to haul company equipment to and from job sites and jump in with field crews when not moving loads. This is a travel position with extended periods away from home.
What You’ll Do
• Safely haul, load, and unload underground utility equipment (e.g., drills, plows, mini-excavators, skid steers, compressors).
• Perform thorough pre/post-trip inspections, complete logs, and follow DOT/ELD/HOS rules.
• Secure loads properly using chains, binders, and straps.
• Keep trucks/trailers clean; assist with daily job-site cleanup.
• Pitch in with crews (spotting, material handling, shoveling, ground work) between transports—not a seat jockey.
• Check fluids, tires, lights, and perform basic upkeep; communicate issues with field mechanics and help schedule repairs.
What You Bring
• Valid Class A CDL and current medical card; clean MVR.
• Proven experience transporting heavy construction equipment (lowboy/gooseneck/RGN a plus).
• Strong understanding of load securement and safe operations.
• Willingness to travel extensively and stay out for extended stretches.
• Reliable, safety-minded, and not afraid to get dirty; great communication with crews and mechanics.
Nice to Have
• Tanker and/or Doubles/Triples endorsements.
• Experience in underground utilities (fiber/gas/power/water).
• Forklift/telehandler experience and flagging certification.
Compensation & Perks
• Competitive pay with overtime opportunities.
• Paid lodging when working away from home.
• Opportunities for advancement within the company.
