Job Description
GridSource Inc., LLC is seeking skilled Buried Service Wire (BSW) SUBCONTRACTORS in the Fort Collins, CO area to join our team on an all-inclusive unit-based project.
Subcontractors must be capable of performing basic bores (such as across sidewalks and driveways) and placing buried fiber drops from terminal to residence. This role requires independent field work to ensure high-quality underground fiber installations are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
This is an all-inclusive unit-based project where the subcontractor must:
Bury service lines from terminal to residence, working with both fiber and copper drops
Perform basic bores under sidewalks, driveways, and roads
Place buried fiber drops independently, ensuring safe and efficient installation
Restore job sites to original condition and maintain accurate reporting via Android device
Must provide Certificate of Liability Insurance and meet insurance requirements
Must have all necessary tools and equipment to place cable at required depth of 8 inches
Must be equipped for plowing, boring, and hand digging
Must own drop plows or missile equipment and be able to perform road and driveway bores
Experience burying drops and performing both road and driveway bores is required
Ladder may be required in some cases to secure drop to pole
30-day net terms with early pay options available
Long-term work available
Additional Responsibilities:
Operate and tow a 6x12 trailer carrying tools and materials
Use an air compressor and air spade to expose underground conduit when necessary
Perform manual digging (up to 4 feet) and assist with conduit clearing and repair
Safely handle ladders up to 28 feet and lift up to 50 lbs
Communicate effectively with project managers and team members
Qualifications:
Must have a vehicle capable of towing a 6x12 trailer
Experience with underground utility work or telecom construction strongly preferred
Proficiency in boring, trenching, and drop placement
Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various conditions
Must possess a working Android phone for communication and reporting
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and professionalism
