Qualifications
OSHA-10 certification and familiarity with OSHA safety protocols. Working knowledge of traffic control for safe work zone setups. Experience with HDD operations, hydrovac, or mini-excavator in underground utility construction. Skilled in potholing and excavated-hole prep for structure placement. Comfortable working in varied weather; physically able to lift 75–100?lbs. Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
Other Requirements
Ability to work non-standard working hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, and be willing to travel domestically.
Job Description
Support the installation and maintenance of underground fiber optic infrastructure with our OSP crew. You’ll operate HDD drills, hydrovac trucks, and mini-excavators; conduct potholing and hole-digging for structure setups; assist with fusion splicing/testing; and ensure work is performed safely and to spec.
Operate and assist in HDD drilling for fiber conduit installation.
Use hydrovac trucks and mini-excavators for safe excavation and potholing to locate utilities.
Perform potholing to spot utilities and dig holes for vaults, handholes, and equipment structures.
Place conduit, pull fiber, and support fusion splicing/testing (OTDR, power meter).
Interpret blueprints, job specs, and utility maps to ensure accurate placement.
Return consistent daily logs and as-built documentation for crew tracking.
