Qualifications

Must have proven experience operating Vermeer or Ditch Witch directional drills. Locators must have proven experience in utility locating, using tools like GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and electromagnetic equipment to detect and mark underground utilities.

Other Requirements

Vermeer or Ditch Witch Directional Drills and tools. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) while ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards. Valid and clean Driver's License. Knowledge of utility locating practices and technologies (ground-penetrating radar) Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards. Experience with Plows and Missile Boring is a plus.

Job Description

Must have proven experience operating Vermeer or Ditch Witch directional drills, mini excavators, plows, rock hammers and vac systems, to install telecommunications lines, including conduit, fiber optic cables, coaxial cables, through a variety of terrains and soil conditions (e.g., rock, clay, sand, and urban environments).

Proven experience in utility locating, using tools like GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and electromagnetic equipment to detect and mark underground utilities.

• Strong understanding of horizontal directional drilling technology and techniques, with a particular focus on telecommunications infrastructure.

• Ability to accurately and safely locate underground utilities using state-of-the-art locating equipment.

• Meticulous attention to detail when reading blueprints, understanding site layouts, and marking utilities.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy equipment when required.

• Experience and equipment capable of handling rock conditions

• Conduct site inspections to identify hazards, ensure safety, and verify project specifications.

• Maintain daily bore logs and reports documenting work performed, materials used, and any incidents or issues encountered.

• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory standards to protect yourself, your team, and the public.

• Flexibility to travel to different job sites within our service region as needed.

• Use your experience and technical knowledge to monitor and adjust the drill path, depth, and direction to maintain a consistent and accurate conduit and cable installation.

• A proactive approach to safety and risk management.
