Job Summary:
The purpose of the Field Supervisor is to manage and oversee the performance of the field staff for a variety of projects, which can involve either construction or digital communication. Coordinate the work of different departments involved in a project. The purpose of the Field Supervisor includes the training and supervision of their field crew for significant guidance. The Field Supervisor should be equipped with communication skills, data analysis, and hands-on participation. They take charge of projects involving existing/new communication construction including horizontal directional drilling, aerial construction, coax and fiber splicing.
What You’ll Do:
Implement all safety and training procedures according to OSHA regulations
Instruct new personnel on equipment operation and drawing standards
Manage field staff crews
Review client/company reports for accuracy and timeliness; assist in preparing and submitting daily reporting and time verification
Coordinate information, distribute to proper planners/field engineers to ensure appropriate job timelines/deadlines are met
Review project scope and design, arrange regular/emergency crew plans, and discipline field staff personnel when needed
Have and maintain up to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry
Effectively communicate with other departments to handle escalating issues in a timely manner both internally and externally
Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and concepts of other departments
Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility
Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects
Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment
Multitask and change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, coworkers and management
Identify opportunities for improvement while creating and implementing viable solutions
Responsible for assuring subordinates provide accurate billing, dailies, timesheets, reports and must have attention to detail
Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
High school diploma or GED required. Some college or vocational training preferred
Required: 3 years’ experience in the communications industry
Preferred: 5 years’ experience in the communications industry specific
Office environment – typical office movement: reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch
Outdoor environment – typical climate of hot/cold and occasional travel with required.
May be required to work more than 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands
Physical demands – lift/pull up to 75lbs
