Job Description

Job Summary:
The Fiber Pulling Crew Member (C2C) will be engaged as an independent contractor or company partnership through a Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangement. This role focuses on the physical handling and pulling of fiber optic cables through various network pathways, including underground ducts, conduits, and aerial routes.

Key Responsibilities:

Fiber Cable Pulling: Execute the manual labor of pulling fiber optic cables through pre-installed conduits, duct systems, and overhead pathways. MST's 48 fiber all the way to 1728.
Cable Handling: Manage and organize fiber optic cables, ensuring they are securely handled to prevent damage during the pulling process.
Equipment Use: Operate and maintain fiber pulling machinery (winches, cable pullers) and other necessary tools to assist in the pulling process.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other crew members to ensure smooth and efficient cable pulls and to address any challenges during the job.
Safety Practices: Adhere to safety protocols at all times, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures on the job site.
Job Site Organization: Help maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring cables are neatly coiled or organized after being pulled, and equipment is stored properly.
Documentation & Reporting: Report progress, issues, and any materials used to the project manager or foreman as required.
Problem-Solving: Communicate any difficulties encountered during the pulling process (such as obstructions or snags in conduits) and assist in troubleshooting or resolving these issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and maneuver heavy cables, work in physically demanding conditions, and maintain focus over extended periods.
Attention to Detail: Precision in following routes and cable placement to ensure proper cable handling and positioning.
Tool Proficiency: Experience using hand tools (e.g., cable cutters, spools) and mechanical equipment (e.g., cable pullers, winches) to assist in the cable-pulling process.
Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors.
Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of safety standards and practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Communication Skills: Ability to report progress, follow instructions, and address concerns with supervisors or other team members.
Work Environment:
The role involves working outdoors in potentially challenging weather conditions, including in elevated or confined spaces, and in physically demanding conditions.
A C2C arrangement allows for flexible scheduling and may involve multiple project sites, depending on project scope and location.
Contractual Details (C2C):
Corp-to-Corp (C2C) Contract: This is a contractor position under a Corp-to-Corp (C2C) agreement, meaning the individual will be working through their own corporation or business entity.
Independent Contractor: As a C2C contractor, you will be responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and any other business-related expenses.
Duration and Schedule: The contract duration may vary based on project needs. The schedule is flexible, but the contractor must adhere to the project deadlines and work hours as agreed upon with the client.
