Job Description
Responsible for the physical setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center equipment and systems. This includes tasks like installing servers, network devices, and storage systems, as well as managing cabling and power infrastructure.
• Installation and Configuration: Setting up new equipment, including servers, network devices, and storage systems.
• Racking and Stacking: Properly placing and connecting equipment within data center racks.
• Cable Management: Running, terminating, and organizing cables to ensure proper connectivity.
• Power and Cooling: Ensuring proper power connections and monitoring cooling systems to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Observing system performance, performing routine maintenance tasks, and responding to alerts.
• Documentation: Keeping records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Collaboration: Working with other IT professionals and data center teams to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills:
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with data center hardware, software, and networking concepts.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Identifying and resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
• Physical Dexterity: Ability to work with tools and climb ladders, as required.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Record-Keeping Skills: Ability to maintain accurate records of installations and maintenance.
