We have a full-time, need for an Aerial Lineman to actively support & assist all Telecommunication Aerial crews, maintenance and new build projects and efforts. Help with site prep and make ready projects in other construction divisions.
What You’ll Do:
Operate Bucket truck following all safety & traffic regulations (after passing safety course)
Assist with pole framing and placement of stands
Climb poles as required Operate hand and power tools of all types
Assist with installation of guys and anchors
Read and update as-builts
Manage crews of technicians
Provide Aerial Crew Lead Assist with direction of traffic flow in accordance with D.O.T. guidelines
Mentor new hires as required
Have & maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry
Effectively communicate with other departments to handle escalating issues in a timely manner
Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts & concepts of other departments
Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility
Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects
Possess strong problem solving & decision-making skills while using good judgment
Multi-task & change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
Identify opportunities for improvement while creating & implementing viable solutions
Actively follow GridSource policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
High school diploma or GED required. Some college or vocational training preferred
Previous experience in the broadband industry required
Must have a working knowledge of construction, the National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, state and local regulations and general safety standards
Class D license. Valid drivers license required as you will be operating a company vehicle
1 years’ experience working in an aerial lineman position
Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 95 lbs
Required to lift 32-foot ladder
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
May be required to climb poles (with proper equipment), ladders, and other structures as necessary
Required to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces, as needed
May occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
Must be able to work in an outdoor environment year around in all weather conditions
May occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration
May be required to work more than 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands
