Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Splicer with expertise in ribbon splicing and ribbonizing to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks, focusing primarily on ribbon fiber technology. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of optical fiber principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform ribbon splicing for multi-fiber cables, ensuring high-quality connections and minimal signal loss.
Execute ribbonizing techniques to prepare fiber optic cables for installation and splicing applications.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the best cable installation strategy.
Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks using advanced testing equipment, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
Collaborate with other team members during installations and maintenance projects, providing guidance and support as needed.
Maintain accurate records of splicing work, including splice diagrams, test results, and project documentation.
Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in fiber optics preferred.
Proven experience with ribbon splicing and ribbonizing techniques.
Strong knowledge of fiber optic testing tools and related technology.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
