Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required for design approvals. Candidates should have 4+ years of experience in FTTH infrastructure, fiber splicing, or network deployment, along with project management experience in telecommunications or fiber optics. Strong leadership and communication skills. Familiarity with industry standards, permitting, and regulatory compliance, experience with TN visa sponsorship or immigration processes a plus.
Other Requirements
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure. Knowledge of GIS mapping, fiber network planning software, and permitting requirements. A home office is required, this job is fully remote.
Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing fiber splicing operations, managing FTTH infrastructure projects, and ensuring design approvals. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree (preferably in Structural or Civil Engineering) to sign off on designs, provide subject matter expertise, and assist in securing TN visas for Canadian fiber splicing experts.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight: Manage FTTH infrastructure projects, ensuring timely execution and compliance with industry standards.
Splicing Operations: Oversee fiber splicing teams, ensuring quality control and adherence to best practices.
Engineering Sign-Off: Review and approve fiber network designs, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
SME Guidance: Provide technical expertise in fiber infrastructure, including route planning, splicing methodologies, and installation best practices.
TN Visa Sponsorship Support: Assist in securing TN visas for Canadian fiber splicing specialists, ensuring compliance with U.S. work authorization requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to drive project success.
Remote Work with Regional Preference: Work remotely with a preference for candidates located in the Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, California) for easier coordination.
