Job Description
Position Summary:
We are looking for skilled and hardworking Underground Utilities Technicians to join our broadband construction team. In this role, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground fiber and coax systems, contributing to the expansion of high-speed internet services in our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Maintenance: Assist in the installation of underground utilities, including trenching, boring, conduit placement, and cable pulling for fiber and coax systems.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate tools and equipment, such as trenchers, mini-excavators, and cable pulling machines.
Site Preparation: Dig trenches, set handholes, and prepare job sites for construction work.
Safety Compliance: Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
Troubleshooting: Identify and address basic issues with underground systems, escalating complex problems to supervisors.
Collaboration: Work closely with the foreman and other crew members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Documentation: Accurately document work performed, materials used, and site conditions as required.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in underground utilities, broadband construction, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of fiber and coax systems is a plus; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
Physical Ability: Capable of performing physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required (CDL is a plus).
Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
