Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Underground Utilities Foreman to lead a construction crew in the installation, repair, and maintenance of broadband infrastructure, including fiber optic and coaxial cables. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in underground utilities construction, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Crew Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of construction workers, ensuring efficient daily operations and a cohesive team dynamic.
Project Management: Coordinate and execute underground utilities construction projects, including trenching, boring, conduit installation, and cable pulling.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets company standards, client specifications, and industry best practices.
Safety Oversight: Promote and enforce a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
Equipment Management: Operate and oversee the maintenance of construction equipment, such as trenchers, excavators, and boring rigs.
Scheduling and Reporting: Maintain project schedules, complete daily progress reports, and communicate effectively with project managers and clients.
Problem Solving: Address challenges in the field, adapting plans as needed to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in underground utilities construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in fiber and coax installation methods, including trenching, boring, and conduit placement.
Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with underground construction equipment and tools.
Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred), valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).
Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical labor, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and lift up to 50 pounds.
