GridSource has an opening for a Horizontal Directional Drill Operator in Gulf Breeze, FL

An HDD Operator is responsible for day-to-day drilling and pullback of various sized conduits for OSP fiber networks. Most of our work is performed under master service agreements with telecom carriers and regional utilities. The work consists of new builds, maintenance, and restoration in rural and metro areas. The scope of work varies between each job.

Responsibilities:
Ability to operate horizontal directional drill rigs efficiently and safely with safety being a top priority, along with balancing production metrics
Ability to operate HDD locating equipment and train new hires on proper HDD locating standards
Operate mini excavator safely and efficiently
Place vaults/pedestals when necessary
Push/pull coax or fiber when required
Read prints and demonstrate good judgement in the field
Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies
Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects
Work as a team in tandem with supervisor, managers, and other crew members
Actively follow Accelerated Communications and Construction policies and procedures
Responsible for providing accurate billing, dailies, timekeeping
Review plans for any discrepancies
Verify footage and work completed each day by crews- sub and/or in house
Ensure good Housekeeping is met on jobsites
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Operating drill and/or locating equipment: 2 years
Operating HDD Rigs Vermeer or Ditch Witch: 2 years
Experience operating a mini excavator
Experience as an Equipment Operator
