Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair aerial fiber optic and copper lines on utility poles, rooftops, and other elevated structures.
Operate aerial lift equipment (bucket trucks) and ladders to access elevated locations safely.
Perform splicing, cable hanging, grounding, and other tasks to ensure proper functionality of telecom networks.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of aerial lines, identifying potential issues and implementing repairs as needed.
Ensure adherence to all safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies while working at height.
Collaborate with ground crews, supervisors, and other team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with telecom lines and equipment in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and project progress.
Assist with underground cable installation as needed.
Stay up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies to continuously improve skills and service delivery.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Aerial Lineman or in a related position in telecommunications.
Proficiency in using aerial lift trucks, hand tools, and equipment related to aerial line work.
Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and industry best practices.
Ability to read and interpret telecom blueprints, maps, and schematics.
Physical ability to work at heights, lift heavy equipment, and perform duties in various weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Certifications:
OSHA 10 or 30
First Aid/CPR
Telecommunications certifications (e.g., Fiber Optics, RCDD) are a plus.
