Job Description
Wise Connect inc./Gridsource Inc. LLC, is looking for Quantum Fiber Installers in the Ocala and Orlando Florida area.
We will Train qualified candidates!
Job Summary:
As a Fiber Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
Candidates must have previous experience working for Telecom, Fiber, Low Voltage, Cable, Satellite. Must provide their own work truck/SUV/Van capable of carrying a 28' telecom ladder.
Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and connections in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Perform troubleshooting and repairs on fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Conduct fiber optic network maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, and documentation.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders to schedule installations and service appointments.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Provide accurate and detailed documentation of work completed, materials used, and customer interactions.

Requirements:
Must have previous experience installing cable, fiber, or satellite.
Previous experience working for a telecom provider or in a related field.
Technician must have their own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack
Technician must have their own tools to perform the job. 28’ ladders needed for aerial work. Android smart phones are also a requirement.
Technician must have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This includes lace up boots with a defined 1/2-inch heel, a hard hat, a reflective safety vest, a fall resistor, and safety cones.
Other equipment may be required by local management.
Must be available to work flexible hours. Weekend work may be required.
Must be able to pass Background and Drug screening.
Must have a good driving record.
Must be able to lift 75+ lbs. continuously.
Able to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.
Note: Management reserves the right to assign or reassign functions and responsibilities to this job description at any time.
Added Requirements:
Looking for a self-motivated, safety conscious person, preferably with fiber optic experience. Knowledge of fiber connections cleaning and handling preferably. Familiar with fiber optic tools such as metes splicing tools a plus. Ability to transport tools and equipment including a 28-foot extension, 6 and 8 foot-step ladder a must. This job requires times where heights and the ability to handle and climb with all ( safety precautions and regulations followed ) on wood or concrete poles and or mid span. This job also may require confined spaces such as but not limited to attics, crawl spaces, under trailer, central office remote or CEV. Hand and power tools such as cordless hammer drill and cordless impact, various wood, masonry ,metal, including 18-inch 3/8's masonry bit will be needed. The hand tools required as followed would start with, foreign voltage detector, lines man pliers, diagonal cutters, cable cutters, RJ45 and 11 crimpers, various screwdrivers or multibit screwdriver, can wrench, central office wire wrap tool, TS 52 pro butt set, and toning tool and probe. Also required safety or PPE equipment including and not limited to- hard hat, safety cones and reflective vest, a minimum of 3 point climbing harness and lanyard, safety toe boots, safety glasses, and leather shock resistant gloves. Must be willing to work minimal 5-day work week. When needed up to 7 days during storm damage or other customer requested overtime may be needed. Out of area travel may be necessary. Communications skills and with electronic devices a must.
