Job Description
• Experienced JT9 operator to lead an underground directional boring crew
Requirements:
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred
• Previous experience in standard and high-risk areas preferred
• Previous experience in underground fiber and coax construction a plus
• Previous experience in operating a HDD rig, Ditch Which JT9 or equivalent preferred
• Previous rock boring experience a plus
• Knowledge of utility depths and placements
• General knowledge of underground utility construction practices
• Must be able to read and understand HFC design prints
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License, CDL is a plus but is not required
• Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels
• Equipped to work in trenches, manholes and tunnels
• Prepared to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach and lift for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
• Capable to use full-range of motion in fingers, hand and wrists to operate necessary tools/equipment
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Always provide a safe work environment for you and the crew
• Delivers excellent customer service at all times
• Restores job site environment to its original condition
• Leads crew activities providing guidance and direction to laborers on the job site
• Adheres to all State, Local and Federal rules and regulations
• Safely operate horizontal directional drill in accordance with HFC design prints
• Maintains company equipment per safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications
• Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions
