Fiber Install Technician (S1)
Description
We are seeking a skilled (S1) Fiber Install Technician to join our team. As a (S1) Fiber Install Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic cables to ensure efficient and reliable communication network systems. You will work closely with our team of technicians and engineers to ensure that our clients' networking requirements are met.
Responsibilities
• Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables in accordance with industry standards and specifications.
• Perform fiber optic cable testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any connectivity or signal issues.
• Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries during installation or maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of all installation and maintenance activities, including cable locations and test results through construction
management software. Ex. Vitruvi
• Collaborate with team members to plan and execute fiber optic projects within established timelines and budgets.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in fiber optic installation and maintenance is preferred.
• Basic knowledge in Construction and tools.
• Prior telecommunications construction experience preferred in aerial and/or underground.
• Ability to use aerial and underground equipment and tools for cable placement, ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.
• Preferred knowledge of fiber optic cable types, connectors, splicing techniques, and testing equipment
• Proficient in reading and interpreting fiber optic network diagrams and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities
• Must be physically capable of lifting, squatting, bending, pulling and other weight bearing activities of up to 50 lbs.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Traveling up to 50%
