Qualifications

OSP Field Supervisor has at least 10 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and a holistic understanding of underground construction related to telecommunications wire installation. Hands on with the expectation to not only oversee crews but also perform work functions using a directional boring machine and mini excavator.

Other Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license. Ideally, should have key relationships with decision makers of carriers who provide phone, TV, and internet service.

Job Description

The Outside Plant Construction (OSP) Area Supervisor is hands on with broad, professional management skills to oversee teams in various markets in N. TX. Performs supervision of field crews, revenue-generating duties, budgeting, project management and other related duties as assigned by management. A company vehicle will be supplied.

The essential functions listed below are representative of duties performed by this job title. Duties generally include but are not limited to the following:
• Attends client meetings to provide status updates
• Ensure that timelines, positive productions and high-quality expectations are adhered to
• Oversee and assist crew members and to perform maintenance repairs such as splice pits, pedestal installations, manhole maintenance, trenching, directional drilling / boring, connections to the tap/pedestal/ground block, etc. using drill machines, dump trailers, mini excavators, rodders, wompers, shoring, confined space peripherals, etc.
• Track company assets; maintain equipment repair log and ensure timely fleet and equipment
• Work independently with confidence and must have team comradery leadership authority

PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Must have unimpaired hearing, able to communicate orally and via telephone
• Ability to distinguish between colors, read printed material, lift/carry 60 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, must be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, or work in other uncomfortable positions to accomplish tasks
• Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to work with hand tools
• Must maintain an acceptable driving record & have the ability to drive long distances for field site visits and occasional home office visits in TX
• Operate a computer and smart phone to access required systems and utilize MS Office comfortably
