Job Description
Gridsource Inc., LLC, is seeking experienced Fiber Installation Technicians in Central FL, Ocla/Lady Lake area.
Job Summary:
As a Fiber Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks. Candidates must have previous experience working for a telecom provider, expertise in Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technologies, and the ability to provide their own work truck/SUV/Van capable of carrying a 28' telecom ladder.
Responsibilities:
· Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and connections in both indoor and outdoor environments.
· Perform troubleshooting and repairs on fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
· Conduct fiber optic network maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, and documentation.
· Collaborate with team members to complete projects and resolve technical issues efficiently.
· Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders to schedule installations and service appointments.
· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Provide accurate and detailed documentation of work completed, materials used, and customer interactions.

Requirements:
· Min. Experience: 1 year of installing FTTH for a telecom provider or contracting company.
· Must have previous experience installing cable, fiber, or satellite.
· Previous experience working for a telecom provider or in a related field.
· In-depth knowledge of fiber optic technologies, including Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) installations.
· Proficiency in terminating and testing fiber optic cables and connectors.
· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in fiber optic networks.
· Familiarity with optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) testing and analysis.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Valid driver's license and a reliable work truck (to be provided by the applicant).
· Physical ability to perform duties such as lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
· Must be able to pass Background and Drug screening.
· Must have a good driving record.
· Able to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.
