Job Description

Local Construction Supervisor

The Construction Supervisor will ensure that projects are completed to client and internal specification, on time, and within budget. CS is responsible for maintaining relationships between the client and Gridsource and ensuring all required DOT or City/County/Municipality crossings/issues are managed and followed through. Position also requires the capability to manage subordinate personnel.
CS is required to communicate and maintain all job-related information inside internal systems for other areas of IS team to access and manage their respective responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities:
Route in-house crews efficiently based on customer priority.
Coordinate all construction activities with client and local/state agencies with regards to assigned work.
Attending company and client status meetings as required.
Set Pre-Conference dates to review assigned work and set scheduling expectations with client.
Works closely with internal and external groups to manage construction of new fiber network.
Monitors infrastructure builds and reviews and approves work that meets customer’s standards.
Prepare timelines for the projects, provide detailed daily updates to Project Managers for reports.
Meet with contractors, customers, and other OSP engineers and vendors to coordinate/mitigate projects.
Utilizes a variety of systems for the processing and reporting of work activities, documentation of projects, new construction, and route maintenance/protection.
Manage contractors/subcontractors for construction of Outside Plant infrastructure.
Review proposed construction plan to ensure design of network meets budget and expectations. Manage budget vs actuals on projects.
Prepares Material Manager of upcoming projects to ensure all materials are available for projects and
Works closely with project managers to ensure all operations systems are updated to reflect current project status.
Some travel will be expected, both overnight and daily travel.
Assist with safety duties.
Assist with fleet & equipment maintenance & repair scheduling.
