Union Scale: Fiber Splicer- $39.24/hour plus union benefits Overtime after 8 hours. Hotels paid by the company and $30 a day for meals included while travelling.
Qualifications
Must have 3 to 5 years of fiber splicing experience. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to work on ladders if needed and must be able to operate a bucket truck. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends if needed. (Not all the time)
Other Requirements
All applicants are required to complete a pre-hire drug screening and background check. You must have a valid drivers license. You also must have a valid OSHA 10 card or be willing to take a 10hr online OSHA course before being hired. Must be able to lift more than 50lbs. Must be willing to travel within NYS not including the 5 boroughs of NYC and Long Island. Must be willing to join Local IBEW 1249
Job Description
Able to splice SM/MM and trouble shooting.
Knowledge of all types of fiber splicing and test equipment.
Locate and repair cable faults.
Able to confirm accurate cable terminations.
Able to read and understand construction prints and splice schematics.
