The ideal candidate must be Dependable, Experienced, Knowledgeable, and be able to safely work in COAX Splicing-High Split environment, either in the air on utility poles or on the ground in underground developments. Attention to detail and taking pride in one’s work is crucial to success in this role.

Must be able to withstand the physical demands of this role- grasp and use various hand tools, standing for almost the entirety of the shift, being able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to twist, bend, pull, and stoop regularly. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License. Must be 21 years and older. Experience preferred but will train the right candidate.

In addition to splicing COAX, the candidate is responsible for replacement/upgrade of all coaxial equipment from the NODE to the end of lines. Experienced COAX Splicers will also be responsible for activations, rebalancing and troubleshooting if needed as well as testing with Viavi Signal Level Meters, and can document production for the evening via simple spreadsheet and specific soft tools for the project.
Knowledge of how a Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) system works and how to test AC/DC on Active and Passive equipment and Coax.
Preparing various types of outside plant COAX cables for splicing, operating test equipment, reading and understanding the test results for troubleshooting and documenting purposes. Ability to read blueprints.
This is overnight remote work and must be willing to travel.
The shift is Sunday to Thursday overnights with overtime and will be starting in Upstate NY.
