Job Description

Responsible for a variety of activities associated with servicing, repairing, and maintaining pieces of heavy equipment in a shop setting, as well as, in the field requiring travel. The work is performed through the application of certifications, education, experience, and skill which denote expertise in heavy equipment maintenance. The position requires exceptional organizational skills in both the mechanical and the documentation aspects of the business. Mechanics will be required to work in a safe environment and keep area clear of hazards.

Our heavy equipment mechanic perform fueling, lubing, servicing, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment including but not limited to dozers, excavators, loaders, compactors, graders, scrapers, forklifts, , off road haul trucks, articulated haul trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, fuel trucks, service trucks, boom trucks, belly dump trailers, side dump trailers, pups, semi-tractors, and low boy trailers. Must possess an extensive knowledge of Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo, Case, Hitachi, JCI, El Jay, Hamm, Ingersoll-Rand, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack, International, Kenworth, Aspen, Trail King, and Great Dane manufacturers. Must keep, complete, track and manage service records, purchase orders, invoices, logs, inventory, timesheets, manufactures specifications and manuals.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot system issues with diagnostic programs and other techniques.
Diagnose, repair, and replace components and/or damaged parts.
Repair and replace tires, brakes, and other wear components.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Ensure completed work.
Work collaboratively with other technicians to evaluate and repair equipment.
Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor.
