$22-$35/hr based on experience. $5k bonus for true coax splicers.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Associates degree in electronics or equivalent field preferred. Previous work experience in the telecommunications field. Must possess time management skills and meet deadlines. Must be able to use specialized programs and databases. Must be analytical, able to exercise good judgment, field safety and apply logical reasoning in seeking solutions to problems. Ability to learn new technologies as needed to support future systems. Valid DOT Med card.
Job Description
Coax and Fiber technicians will splice fiber optic cables in the air, underground, and in commercial buildings.
Duties:
Must be able to pull cable through commercial buildings.
Set up splice locations, termination points and general fiber optic construction
Fuse fiber optic cables in a production environment for small to large projects
Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks for acceptance testing, trouble identification and fiber characterization
Use of headend test equipment
