Job Description
The Fiber Splicer is responsible for preparing fiber sheaths, splicing and testing individual fibers, and properly dressing and securing fibers within fiber optic enclosures
- Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment related to WAN, IT infrastructure, telephone systems, and network infrastructure
- Conduct testing and documentation of fiber optic cables to ensure proper functionality
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with high voltage and low voltage equipment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience (at least 2 years) in fiber optic splicing and termination
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and network systems
- Familiarity with high voltage and low voltage equipment
- Ability to operate a forklift for material handling purposes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
