Qualifications
Drillers: 2 + years of verifiable directional bore experience; Experience with different size Vermeer units; Practical working experience of underground construction; Locators: 1 + years of demonstrated HDD locating experience with strong knowledge of underground utilities; A valid CDL Class A is a plus
Other Requirements
Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods; Must have a valid driver's license and pass an MVR check and pass a pre-employment drug screen; Working personal vehicle to go to work starting point and to return home.
Job Description
Driller:
1. Running horizontal/directional drill rigs
2. Responsible for ensuring the correct path and depth of drilling for installation of
product
3. Confirms bore path with HDD Locator, including walking the bore path
4. Performs job site analysis (JSA), including completion of paperwork
5. Responsible for routine maintenance on HDD equipment, including daily
cleaning, routine lubricating, and making minor repairs to ensure its reliable
performance
6. Conducts post-job quality checks and clean up
7. Utilizes defensive driving practices
8. Follows required company and DOT reporting procedures
9. Perform other duties as assigned
10. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries,
both for yourself and fellow crew members. Promote a safety-conscious work
environment
11. Collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and project managers to
communicate progress, challenges, and potential solutions throughout the
project. Advise crew members of on-site challenges identified, such as rocky
terrain or unexpected obstacles that may impact HDD project scope of services.
12. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment usage,
maintenance activities, and any issues encountered during drilling process
13. Stay up to date on current safety policies, procedures, and OSHA compliance
regulations
Locator:
1. Responsible for ensuring the correct path and depth of drilling for installation of
product
2. Confirms bore path with drilling operator, including walking the bore path
3. Ensures there are proper clearances to install the product per standards
4. Tracks the drill bit to ensure it follows the planned path that avoids hitting any
other underground conduits, water, utility, gas lines
5. Records the depth of the drill head every ten (10) feet or sooner as needed
6. Ensures the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product
7. Follows specifications for the job and company policies
8. Perform other duties as assigned
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries,
both for yourself and fellow crew members. Promote a safety-conscious work
environment
10. Collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and project managers to

locate process. Advise crew members of on-site challenges identified, such as
