Job Description
This position is responsible for operating equipment such as: directional drills, mini excavators, backhoes, and/or cable plows in a safe manner.
Fiber Construction Crew Operator Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Operate all construction-related equipment in a safe manner.
• Ability to travel within a 4-hour radius of Wapakoneta, OH
• Must be willing to learn and grow with the organization
• Routine Training as assigned with LMS, OSHA, etc.
• Coordination and assistance with Roadside Traffic Control
• Communicate effectively with customers, teammates, and managers as well as any personnel related to construction jobsite
Fiber Construction Crew Operator Requirements:
• Directional drill, mini-excavator, backhoe, cable plow, and locator operation experience.
• Experience using compressors, jackhammers, and tampers
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record, required
• CDL is strongly recommended
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Strong attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines, and good time management skills
• Must be able to operate all equipment necessary to complete tasks assigned

Position Specifics:
• Hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
• Guaranteed at least 40 hours a week the entire year
• On-call and overtime will be scheduled as needed
• This work requires frequent walking, driving, pushing, pulling, and lifting of moderate objects throughout the workday and, in limited cases, heavy objects
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in Engineering/Construction Management/Project Management or 2 years + experience in the construction industry preferred.
