Job Description
Velocity Professional Services LLC is looking for experienced Fiber Splicer personnel to help grow our team of professionals to support our ever growing client work load. Your role will be to perform the duties of a Fiber Splicer Technician working in VA, MD, and DC areas.
Responsibilities:
• Perform field surveys and return accurate as built maps, red lined matrices, and related information.
• Isolate and repair issues affecting light level performance.
• Perform optical OTDR Testing.
• Perform Power Meter Testing.
• Perform DWDM Meter Testing.
• Perform optical fiber splicing to include working in various types of active enclosures, building and installing new enclosures.
• Install DWDM and WDM Mux units in OSP enclosures.
• Perform installation and optimization of RFoG V-Hubs to include installation of 1x32 optical couplers in Distribution Cabinets at Fiber to the Unit/Home New Build locations.
• Perform fiber splicing in Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) to include the installation of new equipment in both aerial and underground locations.
