Job Description
Wise Connect, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated, safety conscious Aerial Fiber Drop Technician in Ocala, FL. This job requires working at heights and the ability to handle and climb with all (safety precautions and regulations followed) on wood or concrete poles and or mid span. We will train those with low voltage or cabling experience.
Requirements:
• The technician will be expected to replace the downed drop, recover the old drop and test at the NID to ensure service is restored.
• The technician needs to have the ability to transport tools and equipment including a 28-foot extension ladder with V-bar and hooks
• Strong customer communication skills - ability to explain technical issues to customers.
• Technician must have their own truck, van, or SUV with a ladder rack. Technician will provide their own tools to perform the job (foreign voltage detector, lines man pliers, diagonal cutters, cable cutters, various screwdrivers or multi-bit screwdriver and a can wrench, cordless hammer drill and cordless impact, 3lb hammer, various wood, masonry, metal, including 18-inch 3/8th masonry bit)
• Technician must have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This includes: lace up boots with a defined 1/2-inch heel, a hard hat, a reflective safety vest, a fall resistor, and safety cones. Other equipment may be required by local management.
• Technician must be able and have a device that can operate MS Excel and Outlook
Work Environment:
• May climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet.
• May perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds.
• May perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather).
• When working aloft, employee's weight and tools combined may not exceed the 300-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer.
• Must work varying shifts and hours including possible mandatory overtime, weekends and holidays. Follow all company and client safety guidelines.
