Job Description
Fiber Construction Manager to join our team! A successful Fiber Construction Manager shall be responsible for in-house and subcontractors to ensure accuracy, timeliness and profitability. At a minimum, the position requires a detailed working knowledge of telecommunications OSP construction. Fiber Construction Manager directs scheduling, instructs, interprets, and trains, as needed, for all crews, subcontractors, and inspectors for the construction/upgrade of cable television or telephone systems. A Construction Supervisor will work closely with the construction team and support the staff to meet build schedules and customer objectives. ***Candidates with 12 months of verifiable utility construction experience are eligible for $2500 Gross Hiring Bonus, for applications received between May 1, 2023 and June 30, 2023, and a job offer employment start date by July 31, 2023.**
What you'll do...
*Manage in house and subcontracted resources performing outside plant (OSP) construction and activation.
*Conduct pre-construction meetings.
*Interface with customers to coordinate schedules, plans, risks and completion dates.
*Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
*Accurately forecast resource requirements based on completion deadlines.
*Conduct and manage quality control to ensure projects are executed safely and to specifications.
*Oversee training and certification of in-house and subcontracted resources.
*Obtain permits and licenses.
*Resolve issues related to damages and customer escalations.
*Participate in preparation and review of estimates with attention to the following: adherence to cost control system, equipment requirements and utilization, constructability, formwork, materials, manpower, general conditions, schedule, insurance, etc.
*Develop a strong working relationship with Project Managers to maximize new opportunities and revenue.
*Participate in accident investigations with fleet and safety employees. Determine the degree of preventability and coach employees on safe driving habits.
*Assist with fleet fuel and maintenance programs to assure proper usage and cost control.
*Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 5 years of related work experience
*Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience
*Project management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks
*Authorized to work in the United States
*Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check
