Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent / 2 years' experience operating heavy equipment used in utility construction / Experience operating a horizontal directional drill a must / A valid commercial driver's license (CDL-A) and current DOT medical exam card

Job Description
The Directional Drill Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of company directional drill equipment which is primarily used in a job site setting where the construction of overhead and underground telecommunication lines is being performed. • Must have proven track record operating a Horizontal Direction Drill (HDD)

o Locator functionality
o Proper Maintenance
o Safety Procedures
• Operates heavy machinery, which is typically used in utility construction, including but not limited to the following: over-head and underground telecommunication lines including, but not limited to, a directional drill, tractor, backhoe, forklift, or excavator - excludes operation of cranes. Employee maybe subject to operating machines within a construction site that includes gas transmission and distribution pipelines, electric power transmission and distribution lines, electric substations. Responsible for inspecting and maintaining equipment daily and ensuring equipment is safe and ready for operations. Coordinates needed repairs with Fleet/Equipment coordinator.• Assists with the requisitioning, handling, and transporting of materials, equipment, and tools. Other duties may include assisting the construction department from time to time with other aspects of utility construction including aerial work.
