Job Description
Drill and missile contactors needed as well as W2 for all positions.
Hand Digging and pot holing
Restoration
Spot for Utilities
Loading Materials
Verify locates are correct
Assist with JSA’s and constantly being on the look out for changing conditions
Maintains accuracy in all reporting functions
Wears appropriate safety apparel and is aware of and follows all established safety practices and procedures
May be required to work day, evening or night hours, overtime, weekends and out-of-town assignments as required
Help train Laborer 1 team members
Attain and maintain a Valid Class A CDL License
Be able to move equipment and backfill
Be proactive about learning to read prints and drawings
Be proficient at equipment preventative maintenance (Greasing, Fueling, Changing basic parts)
Operate the drill rig efficiently.
Prepare job and drill so that the shot can be performed safely.
Pothole all utilities that will either be paralleled or crossed during the bore shot.
Fill water tanks with water.
Combine water with chemicals for boring according to the ground you are drilling in.
Locate the drill head from point A to point B without hitting any utilities at the correct depth.
Hook up swivel, reamer, and pipe product that will be pulled back to complete the bore shot.
Before the bore shot is started, walk out bore shot to ensure all utilities have been located and develop a plan for going above or below each utility or obstacle in the bore path.
Pull back the product with the correct hole opener and utilize the correct mud mixture to ensure that the product makes it from point B to point A.
Inspect and maintain job equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking and driving
Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer and fall weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
Assume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers.
May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and safety vests
Must have proven experience in heavy construction equipment operations with emphasis on Missile operation.
All phases of underground construction include but are not limited to loading, digging removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment.
Ensures safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.
Knowledge and implementation experience with construction and general industry safety standards and procedures.
Operate and work around heavy equipment and machinery.
Install and maintenance of underground utilities.
Read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
Must be able to work independently at times and understand and implement construction safety procedures.
