Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector is experienced in fiber construction. They are responsible for conducting quality assurance inspections of underground and aerial work of in-house technicians and subcontractors, during and after completion of a project.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures adherence to and demonstrates a sound understanding of safety best practices and regulations
2. Coordinate inspection activities with crews, subcontractors, safety, and field management
3. Understands the scope of work of each project
4. Conducts quality assurance inspections during and after completion of work to ensure compliance with customer specific requirements
5. Recognizes and escalates persistent quality or other observed issues that could impact the ongoing relationship between client and company.
6. Utilizes and demonstrates proficiency with construction tasks, tools, test equipment and information that will enhance quality results.
7. Enter inspection findings in established company database in accordance with policy and procedures.
8. Communicate project status and any work/schedule changes with subcontractors, local municipalities, and homeowners
9. Assist in the preparation of red line prints and as-builds
10. Monitor and track completion of job sites
11. Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Understands aerial, underground, and splice test variants
2. Knowledge of aerial and underground cable/fiber construction practices
3. Ability to read and interpret CATV/Fiber design prints
4. Knowledge of splicing
5. Ability to manage workload in an effective and efficient manner
6. Knowledge of local DOT work zone standards.
7. Conflict resolution skills
8. Utilizes their experience to mentor and educate crew members
9. Computer experience in Microsoft Office Suite and with various other construction programs
10. Excellent at relationship building
11. Ability to communication with clarity at the frequencies required by management and customers
12. Ability to travel to multiple sites as required
13. Work independently with minimal supervision
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
2. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
3. Must be able to pass a DOT physical
4. High School Diploma or GED
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
1. Permitting Experience
2. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
3. Undergraduate degree
4. CDL License
